Karyne (00:00:07) – Hi fantasy readers. This is Karyne Norton, your fellow book binger, and you are listening to the Finding Fantasy Reads podcast where you can test out a new fantasy story every single week to find your next favorite author.
Today’s story is part two of two, featuring a steampunk fantasy by E.J. Kitchens. Every time we narrate a story for the author, I’m careful to get their preferred pronunciations for character names. So when Elizabeth gave me her list of pronunciations, she mentioned that Bowditch is based off an actual famous navigator. So I had to look him up. Apparently in the late 1700s, he spent a lot of time at sea where he learned to use stars for navigation. Only he found tons of errors in the navigation tool used by most sailors. So he rewrote it and published it in 1802. And the even cooler thing is that the book is still being published today because of how accurate and useful it is.
If you listened to part one, I think you’ll understand why Elizabeth picked that name. But if not, I think you’ll figure it out soon. Please enjoy listening to Dawn Bringer: Part 2 by E.J. Kitchens.
Karyne and Paeter (00:01:27) – Dawn Bringer: Part 2 is read by Karyne Norton and Paeter Frandsen. Due to copyright, the full transcript of the story cannot be included here.
