Karyne (00:00:07) – Hi fantasy readers. This is Karyne Norton, your fellow book binger, and you are listening to the Finding Fantasy Reads podcast where you can test out a new fantasy story every single week to find your next favorite author.

Today’s story has that classic fantasy feel, where you can tell it’s a small story from a much bigger world. But instead of being told by a warrior or adventurer, it’s told from the perspective of an artist. I absolutely love that it’s written by a father-son duo, Dan and Robert Zangari. Dan is the creator of the Legends of Kalda fantasy universe, and he’s been working on it since the early 1990s. When he’s not writing, he enjoys reading, watching movies, spending quality time with family, and serving in his local church congregation.

His son, Robert, is the co-author of the various books which belong to the Legends of Kalda universe. Outside of writing, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, playing video games, practicing martial arts, and immersing himself in other good stories.

Today’s narrator is Paeter Frandsen, host of Christian Geek Central. Stick around to the end or check out today’s show notes to see where you can find more from both the authors and the narrator, as well as how to enter our giveaway. For now, please enjoy Defender of Stone by Dan and Robert Zangari.

When’s the last time you told someone about the podcast? If it’s been a while, I challenge you to think of two people in your life who could benefit from listening to the podcast. They’ll thank you for it later, and I’ll go ahead and thank you now. Thank you, my friend, for sharing the podcast with your friends.

In fact, let’s do a fun little game. If you take me up on that challenge, send me an email telling me which two people you shared the podcast with, like maybe your cousin or a friend in your Facebook reader group. Doesn’t have to have their name. Whether or not they listen (because realistically, I’ll have no idea – this is the honor system here) I’ll send you a code for my audiobook, The Light That Saves, for free. It’s a novella I just released yesterday that expands on a story told in Blood of the Stars, and while it has more context if you’ve read Blood of the Stars, it still functions as a standalone.

And if your friend wants that same audiobook, tell them to send me an email that they started listening because you shared the podcast with them, and they can get it for free, too. Guys, this is not a well-planned game or reward system. It’s an experiment, and we’ll see how it turns out, and I may never do it again if it doesn’t turn out well, so I suggest you take advantage of it now. I will honor this offer through the end of September, so start inviting people to check out the podcast.

Okay, that’s enough blabbering. You all know the links are in the show notes, including my email, so you can get credit for spreading the word. Thank you all for listening, and happy reading.
