Karyne (00:00:07) – Hi fantasy readers. This is Karyne Norton, your fellow book binger, and you are listening to the Finding Fantasy Reads podcast where you can test out a new fantasy story every single week to find your next favorite author.
You’ll want to stick around for today’s story if you like eerie adventures with pirates and ghost ships. It’s written by H.L. Davis, who we featured last year with several flash fiction stories from Havok. She’s a Christian, wife, and homeschool mom who calls the South home. She first discovered the joys of writing at ten years of age, and it’s a craft she’s delighted to pursue once again. She is particularly fond of fairy tales, whether it’s retelling old favorites or weaving magical stories of her own.
Hang around to the end or check out today’s show notes to see where you can find more from the author!
Until then, please enjoy The Phantom by H.L. Davis.
Karyne (00:01:05) – The Phantom is read by Karyne Norton. Due to copyright, the full transcript of the story cannot be included here.
Karyne (00:19:47) – I hope you enjoyed listening to The Phantom by H.L. Davis, narrated by Karyne Norton. If you want to read more by H.L. Davis, go to hldavisstories.substack.com to keep up with her writing. This particular story is from an anthology called Sailing Magic, so if you want more stories on the sea, you can check that out. I’ll have direct links for both the anthology and her substack in the shownotes.
If you’re interested in being a part of the Finding Fantasy Reads volunteer team, I’m still looking for more readers and an audio editor. I have information about each of those roles in the volunteer application form, which you can find at findingfantasyreads.com/volunteer.
Over the last month Hannah Hershberger joined the team as our website admin and she has been such a huge help to me. I’m so thankful for her patience with all the tech snafus we’ve run into while getting her set up and she’s already taken a huge weight off my shoulders when it comes to the workload for getting this podcast out in the world. You can find out more about Hannah and what she writes in the volunteer section of our website at findingfantasyreads.com/about. But next month you’ll also get to hear one of her stories, so be on the lookout for that!
Thank you all for listening, and happy reading!
